My dad loves hot cider, I will have to make this for him sometime. I bet it makes the house smell amazing too!

One of the best things about slow cooker apple cider is the amazing way the delicious aroma fills the entire house for a full day. We do this every year, especially when we entertain.

Y'know, in all the years I've been making mulled cider, I never once put star anise in it! I"ll have to add that this year. Pretty and tasty.

All hail the slow-cooker, I say. I use mine for warm beverages, dips, main courses, side dishes....I've even made fondue in there when someone who shall remain nameless (husband) broke my fondue pot the day of our Christmas party last year. Glad you've discovered the joy! Please bring me some of your stew. :)

I love the way cider tastes with star anise! It's great to make in the slow cooker and keep warm during a party. I usually use mine to make sure that dinner's ready on days when I'm in meetings, etc. It can be nice to come home to dinner that's already prepared (even though I did much of the same prep work the night before).
