Someone else mentioned this cookbook and now I"m intrigued. Maybe I'll add it to my Christmas wish list!

Great post! We got the North End a lot when we visit my in-laws. You've done a great job capturing the yummy cuisine, I like this cookbook, too!

I lived above Giacomo's for two years and admit that it's one of my favorite spots in the North End. I miss it so and will have to purchase this cookbook.

Barbara

Thanks Jen; I've only been once when I made a trip east to visit my daughter at her first job in CT, but our trip to Boston was a highlight and I was ready to move to the North End. Your post and this book are such fond reminders and I'm buying it, seriously, TODAY!

Yvett

I'd love to get the recipe for the calamari fritti or at least the name of the store where I can purchase the book. My husband and I were in Boston last summer and were lucky enough to dine at Giacomos!

What a nice read. I too love strolling through Italian markets- thanks for sharing this cookbook and your thoughts on it.
